After the online qualification has finished, the 16 players have been seeded into groups. Each group currently consists of four players and will receive two more once the 32 player Open Bracket has concluded after the first day of gamescom, the 15th of August.
The Swedish hotshot SortOf will face Nerchio, inori and DeMusliM in Group A in his first ever Intel Extreme Masters appearance. Last years breakout player Feast will go against the likes of Kas, PiG and viOLet in Group B. Australia's mOOnGLaDe returns to gamescom once more and will go against sLivko, elfi and Minigun in Group C. The reigning German champion HasuObs is in Group D against VortiX, KiLLeR and heavy hitter MMA.

The Intel Extreme Masters Cologne will take place at gamescom from the 15-19th of August. The StarCraft tournament boosts a $31.800 prize pool. The top two finishers will qualify for the World Championship at CeBIT 2013.
