In Group A it was not enough for YHY. He only managed to win against Australian underdog PiG but had to accept defeats against tournament favorite PuMa and HasuObs. The German came second in the end, only losing to PuMa who dominated his group. PiG was without a chance against this strong field and lost all of his three games.

The hot topic of the other group was RAIN who arrived with a few hours delay and had to play his games right off the bat. Against fellow Korean JYP he lost clearly with 2-0. Afterwards he faced the Chinese top player XiGua and the match became the first real best-of-three with RAIN managing to win 2-1 in the end and thus keeping himself alive in the tournament. His last match was against dimaga who had shown a real strong performance up to that point. And he continued it with a third straight victory, taking the first spot in his group. The last match of the day was between JYP and XiGua. The Korean went on to win 2-0, taking the 2nd spot in Group B.
