Intel Extreme Masters Season V American Championship are almost here, and as it was stated before, there are two spots open for the Counter Strike teams from South America. From now on all teams from South America can apply for these spots at the American Championship Finals.

Intel Extreme Masters American Championship is just around the corner, and with SC2 Regular Season coming to an end it was the time to draw groups for the Intel Extreme Masters American Group Stage. The draw happened on djWHEAT's show "Weapon of Choice" on Sunday August 29th.

The Continental Championships of the Intel Extreme Masters Season 5 are under way as the qualifications come to an end. So it is time to announce the map pool of all three disciplines. We added three maps to Quake Live's gamescom repertoire and removed Battleforge. StarCraft II and Counter-Strike will stick to their respective recent ones.

The final country ranking for Intel Extreme Masters Season 5 is complete. The number of teams and players to participate in the Main Round and the particular qualifiers is determined by this ranking. Already placed within the country rankings are all teams participating in national ESL Pro Series. All other countries get special qualification tournaments.

Today we'd like to announce the schedule of Intel Extreme Masters' European Championship. Once again the best players and teams of the European eSports scene will clash with eachother to determine the European Champions, for the first time in StarCraft II, too.

Intel Extreme Masters American Championship announced that $59,600 will be available to players in Counter-Strike, StarCraft 2 and QuakeLive. The American Championship will take place in New York City in early October.

Qualification for the American Championship started some weeks ago. In Counter-Strike 1.6, Quake Live and StarCraft II you had several chances to qualify for the Intel Extreme Masters Season 5 with a total prize purse of $400,000. While the participants in Quake Live are almost found there are still many slots available in CS1.6 and StarCraft II.
