Yesterday, the first qualifier for the Extreme Masters by ESL came to a close. One Swedish spot was up for grabs at our kick-off event at Games Convention in Leipzig. Three Swedish teams were invited to play it out. Attendance was huge, several thousand people came by and watched the three games live at the GIGA 2 stage in the ESL Intel Arena.
In this mini tournament, everyone played everyone. The teams of SK-Gaming, fnatic and Ninjas in Pyjamas came to Germany to fight for a spot in the 160,000 Euro Extreme Masters. This event is taking place at Games Convention in Leipzig, the biggest European gaming festival with more than 130,000 visitors in 4 days.
Thus, SK-Gaming is the first team qualified for the Extreme Masters that came from one of the national qualifiers. For more details on the qualification mode, check out our news explaining that in detail. More national qualifiers will follow after Games Convention.
