Intel Extreme Masters enters a new continent. For the first time ever an Oceanic blooded participant will debut at Intel Extreme Masters Season 5's World Championships. As a part of the Asian Championship 4Seasons Gaming is going to hold an Australian and New Zealand Quake Live Qualification Tournament.
Today we were supposed to see some epic clashes in the Intel Extreme Masters European Championship season V, however due to problems with the Quake Live website and servers, most likely caused by the most recent update, no match could be played.
We saw it as a necessity to delay all of our playday 4 matches from today, Wednesday, until this Sunday 21:00 CET.
As we already mentioned yesterday it's the second last playday for all three titles of the European Championship. There are only two matches or even one left for almost all participants to get into their group's top 2. ESL TV picked some of the most exciting games to be played on Wednesday and Thursday.
Prepare for two shows full of StarCraft II and Counter-Strike, as we expect some great matches between Socke and Servant at 19:00 CET. Right after that, mousesports player HasuObs faces Jimpo. At 21:00 CET the undefeated Danes of mTw will take on an Alternate side desperately in need of a victory in Counter-Strike's Group F.
Six weeks ago the first episode of Eurosport's Intel Extreme Masters series was aired on Eurosport and Eurosport 2. The total number of viewers, the feedback from the media as well as from you, the eSports community, was great. Now it is time for the next episode, which relocates the venue from Shanghai to Cologne.
Unfortunately another participant of the European Quake Live Championship has decided to withdraw from the running competition. After Magnus 'fox' Olsson leaving the tournament, it is another Swede, who decided to leave the competitive Quake scene behind.
As previously announced, two players had to be replaced in our European Quake Live Championship. While Magnus 'fox' Olsson canceled his participation on his own, Emil 'DAXIO' Lanuszny from Poland isn't old enough to play in the Intel Extreme Masters. On Sunday we held a last chance cup to determine their successors.
