Extreme Masters Los Angeles - About the Extreme Masters

The Extreme Masters by ESL is an eSports tournament sponsored by Intel. Europe's best players in the two games Warcraft 3 and Counter-Strike meet both online and offline to determine the best team and best player. 160,000 Euro (about 205,000 USD) in prize money are up for grabs. At the end of the 6 month season, 16 participants will convene at CeBIT 2007, the world's largest IT trade fair, to crown the season champions.

How Can I Take Part?

The first thing you can do is check out your country's ESL Division. Most European countries have a separate section in the Electronic Sports League where you can qualify for the Extreme Masters. If your country is not yet listed, you can still visit the International Section where people from everywhere join up to play against each other. Since the qualification deadlines are already over, you need to wait out for the next season. But you can still have lots of fun by playing in all kinds of other leagues we have on offer. In some countries you can still try and qualify for the ESL Pro Series, the highest national league that also serves as qualification for the Extreme Masters.

Extreme Masters on Television

Most of the top matches of the Extreme Masters as well as all Intel Friday Night Games will be broadcast live by GIGA Digital Television. GIGA offers two separate channels. On GIGA, accessable via Astra Digital satellite and webstream, you can watch the Intel Friday Night Games and select games. You will find full coverage at GIGA 2. This IP-TV channel is streaming with 1 MBit bandwidth and offers both English and German audio. This 24h eSports channel will have plenty of coverage throughout the season.

How Else Can I Watch the Games?

Of course, you can watch the games of the Extreme Masters in the way you are used to: Counter-Strike via HLTV and Warcraft 3 via Waaagh-TV and GGTV. Further details about coverage partner will be announced once the season starts.
